UNIGLASS

The rapid growth in housing and building development in Portugal led MaxiVidro to expand its product portfolio to include tempered glass for architectural applications. MaxiVidro wanted a high quality furnace to begin the production of Low-E glass and patented turbo technology from Uniglass so UGTPlus UniTop was the choice they made. The new Uniglass furnace was ordered in November 2006 and delivered in May 2007 to the MaxiVidro plant in Mealhada, Portugal, a city located between Porto and Lisbon.

For the customer the most important things when deciding on the supplier were the quality, productivity and reliability of the end product and the equipment itself. In addition to all that the furnace is also easily upgradeable. The advantages of upgradability is that as the customer can increase the production capacity as the business grows and new glass types emerge the matkets.
