United Plate Glass (UPG) outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has grown its business exponentially over the past few years. Previously, the company relied on outside suppliers for tempered glass. In 2001, after making the decision to do in-house tempering, UPG purchased its first Uniglass furnace. In April 2004, UPG needed a second Uniglass furnace to match its growing volumes. And as the business continued growing a third Uniglass furnace with a double chamber was delivered at the end of 2007.

"We have selected a double-chamber furnace this time because of our need for quality and speed - primarily quality," explains Mike Cully, the General Manager of UPG.

"Our mission has always been to invest in high quality with the best equipment. We want to add value through our fabrication for our customers, and Uniglass has been the best choice for us to do this. For example, I am proud to say we have received approval as a PPG certified fabricator one year ago, which guarantees us a certain level of larger volumes and more diversity to accommodate our customers' needs," Mike says.
